Retta Kelly, a founder of GoneForGood in Austin, Texas, was with Cox Newspapers for 28 years in a number of diverse roles ranging from feature writer, columnist, features editor, Advertising Director and then Business Manager with the Dayton Daily News, to the Publisher of the Longview News Journal in Longview, Texas. This experience has served her well in her role for the past several years as editor for the Pew Partnership for Civic Change publication, Community Matters. In her role as Director of Community Development and InfoVentures at the Austin American-Statesman, she worked closely with Austin-area nonprofit organizations and has been successful in co-founding the newly formed Literacy Coalition of Central Texas.

Throughout her career, Retta has served on numerous community boards and is currently serving on the boards of the United Way of the Capital Area, the Texas Book Festival, and the Austin Theatre Alliance. She has also designed and conducted numerous workshops on how to use the media effectively in communicating organizations’ mission and message.
