Gwendolyn Poindexter Whiting is an accomplished consultant specializing in team building, mediation, facilitation, and diversity and conflict resolution training. Since 2002, she has worked with the LeadershipPlenty® training team to engage more than 600 community leaders in the LeadershipPlenty® curriculum.
Gwen’s work with various governmental agencies and nonprofit organizations compliments her work with the Pew Partnership for Civic Change. For the past five years, she has trained extensively for the United States Agency on International Development (USAID within the United States and in Africa, South and Central America, Europe and the Middle East and the Caribbean). She has also done training with the Patent and Trademark Office, Library of Congress, U.S. Department of Commerce, U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Department of Justice, and the White House Interagency Task Force on the UN World Conference Against Racism.
In addition to her extensive experience as a trainer, Gwen has served as a Conciliation Specialist on the Church Burning Response Team for the U.S. Department of Justice’s Community Relations Service. She is also an Associate with the Study Circles Resource Center, an organization that provides curriculum and technical assistance to communities, and is a consultant with Management Concepts, Inc. focusing on leadership, and diversity and conflict management training with its Leadership and Management Division.
